Doctrines and Beliefs

Vistoso Community Church shares with millions of other Bible- believing Christians around the world the great fundamental and evangelical Doctrines of the church—belief in the triune God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ; the believer’s resurrection made possible by the resurrection of Jesus Christ; and the ultimate triumph of our Lord over sin and death. In addition Vistoso Community Church stresses these core beliefs:

Christ is the only Lord and Savior (Acts 2:36). There is no other way mankind can be redeemed from its lost and hopeless estate than through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We worship Jesus Christ because worship is fitting for the “King of kings and Lord of lords” who has called us into a family relationship and a life set apart to him.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:17). We view the Scriptures as authoritative, since they
are "Godbreathed.” We hold them as reliable, since in the original they were both inspired and inerrant. In fact, we consider them to be the final authority for the child of God in matters of faith and practice. We recognize Biblical truth is under relentless attack and false teaching abounds. Through study and the teaching ministry of the Spirit, we strive to avoid false teachings of every kind while holding steadfastly to Biblical truth and a clear Gospel message.

We honor God through traditional worship (Psalm 19:14). Worship is to be glorious and reverent—lifting our hearts and minds in praise, thanksgiving, dedication, repentance, and preparation for the communication of God's Word. It is not intended to entertain, instead it is an area of ministry intended to bring us to appreciate almighty God.

Our loving fellowship strengthens us (Hebrews 10:24-25.) This is a fellowship of believers who share a common bond of loving the Lord, and are truly supportive of each other. Our fellowship begins at the point of unity and decorum among a group of like-minded believers. It continues as individual gifts and abilities are put into service above selfinterest. It extends further to the place where sacrifices are made on behalf of those who are in need.

Seeking the Lost is our commission (Matthew 28:19-20). The Church has a commission directly from our Lord! It is a geographic commission, which corresponds to foreign missions, home missions, and local evangelism. It is a commission to the heart, which is meant to stir our passions, motivate us to act, and guide our plans. We are not just a Sunday audience, but a company of spiritually-gifted and committed witnesses for our Lord.

The principles of divine establishment are God-given (Nehemiah 4:14). We recognize God as having ordained personal accountability, the sanctity of marriage, and primacy of family in nurturing and instructing the next generation. Until Christ returns, our freedoms are only maintained through the proper function of nationalism and military victory.
